What matters to you // me? – VFS – Digital Design – Finding That Thing

Are you in search of that thing?  I am in search of that thing?  Can you help me find that thing?  Have you seen that thing?  I know that, I thought, I saw that thing right here?  If I had that thing would I know it?  If I then lost that thing would I mourn it, maybe or maybe not if I did not know I had that thing to start with?

As I scour the Internet to find the most amazing videos and inspirational edits, occasionally something like this unfolds before my eyes, and I have to sit back a really take in what I just experienced.  It is a wonderful two minutes and twenty seconds of pure joy to not only be visually stimulated, but mentally thought provoked at the same time.

He makes you think not just once, but about 50 times or more about “That Thing”…basically the thing that we are all looking for, but cannot put our finger on it.

We all are on a continual journey to find that ”one thing” that is truly unique to us as individuals.  During this process an amazing amount of growth occurs.  Ideally, a full circle happens and that growth leads us right back to the thing that we have set out to find.  Does that mean that it was always there for us, right next to us?  Possibly so, although I believe that you cannot see it when you set off on your journey and it is only during growth that you are given the eyes, vision and ability to recognize what was and is always there for you.

As he states in the end he, personally, is looking for Vancouver Film School (VFS) to help him find that thing?  VFS could have the tools necessary for him to do just that.  I am guessing that the solution to his journey is deep inside him already…VFS will simply bring it to the surface for him.

If you give that scenario some thought you will begin to believe that all the answers are already inside each and every one of us.  It just takes a person, a catalyst, a school, a surge of outside energy or a something to bring it to our own surface to then realize it for what “it” is.

I commend this video for it’s amazing ability not only for prowess in editing, but in its ability to make us all think in our own heads…”What is that thing to me?”
